As a Cloud Consultant working with products that are part of the Office 365 and the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility +Security Suite (EMS), I often get a lot of questions about multi-factor authentication (MFA), and how to get started. Most customers today has a strategy about MFA when employees are trying to access corporate company data from outside the company perimeter. But when customers are using cloud services like Office 365, OneDrive and SharePoint that boundary moves from a physical boundary to the user identity. Therefore the requirement for multi-factor authentication is something that most customers wants to implement as part…

Today I got a call from a System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM/ConfigMgr) customer that wanted to automate the creation of device collections for each SCCM client version, that was in their environment. I guess summer time means “time to cleanup/fix all the broken clients” :-)A couple of years ago I create another similar script for CU updates: https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/SCCM-Creating-Collections-f334c7f0 but this time I wanted to make the script simpler, fully automated and only create the collections that was needed by the customer. This script will pull a list of all the client versions from the SCCM site server, and create a collection…

Over the last 12 months, I’ve been involved in more than 25 projects with customers that wanted to enable one or more Azure AD Premium and Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) features that’s only available in the Classic Azure Portal. And every time I get the same questions about how to access and configure this feature.During this period Microsoft has already announced the GA for Azure Active Directory, but there are still a few features that you need to configure in the classic Azure Portal. When you navigate to the Azure Active Directory node in the Azure Portal, you’ll find…

When working in the new Microsoft Azure Portal, and the portal feels slow, it hard to identify what’s causing the problem. By using the “Ctrl+Alt+D” command from the Azure Portal, you will get all kind of great information about load times and activated services. Really cool stuff.Check it out by using Ctrl+Alt+D anywhere in the Azure Portal./Enjoy

Until now, the Apple Enrollment section in the Microsoft Azure Portal hasn’t been available, but with the 1703 release of Microsoft Intune this feature is now available. So, if your tenant was created after January 2017 you should have this feature available today. If the option isn’t available (like my test tenant from 1702), simple navigate to the old Silverlight portal and follow the link. That should send you to the right place… But within the next few weeks or so the option should be fully available directly from the Azure Portal. This is a huge and very important step in the…

Just like David James announced at the System Center User Group Meeting in Copenhagen last week, Microsoft has now announced the availability of the the next release of System Center Configuration Manager ( Update 1702). Today I got a call from a customer that was working on a Office 365 Project. As part of the Project they wanted to change the Exchange Email Address Policies to filter on the Company Name for each user. Only problem was that some of the users had a blank or misspelled Company name…Luckily, someone invented PowerShell so we started by pulling a list of all Company Names by running this command:Get-ADUser -Filter * -Properties Company | Group Company | Select Name,CountThe result was as expected… Too many company names. Misspelled Company Names and users with no company name specified…

This week, I created 2 new Intune tenants. One for a new customer and one for a new lab that I was preparing for our SCUG.DK User Group Meeting next week.Just to get things started, I created a simple compliance policy that check if the device is jailbroken and got the following error (in both tenants):An error occurredAn error occurred whilst saving. Request ID: 6e6d9c36-a213-40be-941a-190aa6ab2defNot much to work with, but I finally figured it out…If you configure the “Jailbroken devices” settings, and leave the “Mobile Thread Level” to the default (Not Configured) it will fail when you try to save…
