Just like David James announced at the System Center User Group Meeting in Copenhagen last week, Microsoft has now announced the availability of the the next release of System Center Configuration Manager ( Update 1702). This update is available as an in-console update for previously installed sites that run version 1511, 1602, 1606, or 1610 which includes some great new features and product enhancements. Today I got a call from a customer that was working on a Office 365 Project. As part of the Project they wanted to change the Exchange Email Address Policies to filter on the Company Name for each user. Only problem was that some of the users had a blank or misspelled Company name…Luckily, someone invented PowerShell so we started by pulling a list of all Company Names by running this command:Get-ADUser -Filter * -Properties Company | Group Company | Select Name,CountThe result was as expected… Too many company names. Last week Microsoft Released a new version of Azure AD Connect, which is now incremented to version 1.1.443.0. Overview Technical Preview 1701 for System Center Configuration Manager has just been released, and a new hardware inventory class (SMS_Firmware) and property (UEFI) are now available to help customers determine whether a computer is configured to UEFI mode. When a computer is running in UEFI mode, the UEFI property is set to TRUE (1). Computers that are not started in UEFI mode will have a value of 0. This is enabled in hardware inventory by default. Last month Microsoft released a new update for the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack and for the Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring (MBAM): https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3198158 This week I’m working with a customer on a new MBAM project, and after installing this update I noticed that the version wasn’t updated in the control panel, so I thought that something might have failed. 2.5.1100.0 = 2.5 SP1 2.5.1126.0 = 2.5 SP1 HF03 (December 2016) So I checked the logfile, but everything looked ok. And the registry information looks great too… The MBAM Server was updated as expected and everything worked just fine. Not 100%…
