    • For Server 2012, I used search tool and then I ran Configuration Manager Setup and the rest is as same as told here.

  4. Just a heads up to others, be sure you are logged in with original admin account that was used to install SCCM. I had some issues trying to convert with a secondary user with the “Full Administrator” Security Role. It would take the key but never change the Eval status in the program window. I found the following error in the configmgrsetup.log that clued me into permissions issue.

*** [42000][229][Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]The UPDATE permission was denied on the object ‘SetupInfo’, database ‘CM_TST’, schema ‘dbo’.
ERROR: Failed to update table SetupInfo.

Converted just fine after logging into the original admin account that i used to install System Center

INFO: Successfully Converted from Evaluation to Full Product Version.

Justin, you’re a lifesaver. I was literally minutes away from calling support on this issue. Then I realized I installed SCCM using my non-domain account user and was attempting to install the key with my domain admin account.

    Thanks again!

  6. Hi Ronni,

Thanks for this post, but I’m still having an issue perhaps you can assist me with. Even when I’m using the service account if I try to enter site maintenance via control panel or the start menu I get an error that states:

I get an error about ‘The version of Configuration Manager on the installation media is older than the version that’s installed on the computer. Downgrading is not allowed.’

If I put in the SP1 installation media and run setup from there, I don’t get the error, but only Recover and Uninstall are available.

Any idea what I could do? Only a few days left on my evaluation license!

    Thanks in advance!
