Hi Ronni - great document. Thanks for taking the time to share it

Couple of question around Office 2013

1. You place the MSP into the Updates folder. I've always put it into the root folder and then called setup.exe /adminfile xxx. I tried putting the .MSP into the x86 folder with the above command but it failed
2. Do MS now recommend using the X64 subfolder for 64 and same for X86 - previously it was recommended to use the 32-bit flavour even on 64 bit?. Again how does this fit in with the MSP on the root folder i.e. is the msp independent of the O/S type or do you have to have a separate one in each sub-folder?

Hi Ronnie, this was extremely usefull and saved me a ton of time , my thanks.

I installed on a 2008 R2 host: Some edits I had to make in order for it to fully process are shown below, this was mainly missing back slashes around NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM and BUILTIN\ADMINISTRATORS. Full edit below, which ran like a charm. Would not have got that far if it wasnt for this post however, cheers!

setup.exe /q /ACTION=Install /ERRORREPORTING="False" /FEATURES=SQLENGINE,RS,AS,IS,SSMS,TOOLS,BIDS,ADV_SSMS,CONN /INSTANCENAME=MSSQLSERVER /INSTANCEDIR=C:\MSSQL /SQLSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\System" /SQLSYSADMINACCOUNTS="BUILTIN\ADMINISTRATORS" /SQLSVCSTARTUPTYPE=Automatic /AGTSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" /AGTSVCSTARTUPTYPE=Automatic /RSSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\System" /RSSVCSTARTUPTYPE=Automatic /ASSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\System" /ASSVCSTARTUPTYPE=Disabled /ASSYSADMINACCOUNTS="BUILTIN\ADMINISTRATORS" /ISSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\System" /ISSVCSTARTUPTYPE=Disabled /ASCOLLATION="Latin1_General_CI_AS" /SQLCOLLATION="SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" /TCPENABLED="1" /NPENABLED="1" /IAcceptSQLServerLicenseTerms

I just got an answer from Microsoft (Feedback ID: 782208).
This is expected behaivor. The CU1 update does not update the Site Server version.
If required you can check the CULevel registry data under \SMS\Setup.
Microsoft will have the KB updated with more specific version details, and I've also updated this blog post with this information.
