What’s new in Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010 Update 1

MDT 2010 integrates with ConfigMgr 2007 to provide additional functionality over and above the standard OS deployment features. In this session you will learn to master the added functionality, as well as learn about the new enhancements in MDT 2010 Update 1, including support for ConfigMgr R3’s OEM pre-staged media and user-driven installations (UDI) . You can expect a lot of tips & tricks and live demos in this session.

System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3 Technical Update

This session will give a technical overview of the latest features included in the new R3 release. Topics will include Power Management, Scale and Performance improvements, and OS Deployment enhancements.

In this session you will get an overview as well as technical details of the v.Next setup process, with focus on an existing Configuration Manager site migrating to the v.Next platform.

ConfigMgr v.Next: Application Management

The next release of Configuration Manager is now in Beta! This release promises to improve application management significantly, for organizations of any size. The most used capability in the history of SMS and Configuration Manager has been updated to support your organization however, wherever and on whatever device is right for you. To this end, the Application Model has been designed to provide different deployment types (MSI, Script, AppV, Mobile and more) to different scenarios. Using this model, conditions, rules and predefined relationships can be dynamically calculated at delivery to determine the best application experience for the user on the hardware and connection they are using. In this technical overview of the new Software Distribution capability, we will cover the key concepts including: Deployment Types; Deployments; Requirements; Conditions; and the associated functionality required to support your new generation workforce. Demonstrations will play a key role in the session, including that of the new Silverlight Software Catalog.

Wally Mead, Microsoft

Wally has been with Microsoft for 17 years, and working with Systems Management Server since SMS 1.0 was in development. He started in the training group developing and delivering training courses on SMS 1.0 through 2.0, then moved to the SMS product group to assist TAP customers in the SMS 2003 and Configuration Manager TAP programs. He still works with customers through hands-on labs, presentations, and demonstrations at industry events, as well as working with customers in TAP programs, and monitoring the System Center Configuration Manager TechNet forums.

Johan Arwidmark, Knowledge Factory

Johan Arwidmark is a consultant and all-around geek specializing in Enterprise Windows Deployment Solutions.

Johan speaks at several conferences each year, including MMS and TechEd around the world. He is also actively involved in deployment communities like deployvista.com, itproffs.se and myitforum.com, and has been awarded Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in Setup & Deployment.

Johan is known for an energetic and humorous style, tackling complex concepts using simple, Real World, scenarios and lots of live demos. His areas of expertise include: Enterprise Windows Deployment Tools and Solutions, MDT, WinPE, USMT, WDS, and ConfigMgr 2007.
